Academic Director, AGUK College

Prof Dr John White

Academic Director of AGUK College

He is a graduate in law and politics from the University of Edinburgh, holds a Master’s level qualification in criminology from the University of Cambridge and is a PhD in law/criminology from the University of Edinburgh.

He has had an academic career teaching at Edinburgh Napier University, the University of Edinburgh, Queen Margaret University Edinburgh, the Scottish Police College, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Hong Kong, University of Leeds and University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

He was Dean/Head of the Law School and a member of the university’s Senior Management Team at Anglia Ruskin University for over 20 years.

He was Head of Human Sciences & Law at Bucks New University.

He has occupied managerial roles in colleges in Malaysia and served as Distinguished Visiting Professor at a university in North Carolina, USA.

He is a Senior Member at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge and an adjunct professor and founder member of the Academic Board at the University of Gibraltar.

He has a particular interest in sports law and criminology and in international education.

He has worked as Principal & Academic Director at various London-based private international college over many years culminating in his current appointment as Academic Director at AGUK College.

Arun Chattopadhyay

Internal Verifier & Lead Assessor

Arun is a very hard driving Assessor, Lecturer and Trainer who works very well to achieve all goals set. He has had over 8 years’ experience and has vast amount of knowledge regarding his role as Extra Care Manager in an award-wining scheme. He is an assessor and Internal Verifier for Health and Social care QCF qualifications. 

Arun has equipped himself with all Security Trainings such as Deliverer of Door Supervisor’s training, PTTLS, CCTV and Close Protection training. He was Director of Training and Human Resource in a Security Industry Authority approved organization delivering operatives to Olympic Village in partnership with G4S.

He trained security operatives for Universitas Ltd. and is an approved tutor for Highfields.  Arun also worked as Lead IV for CIMMS a Training Provider organization in Stratford, London as well as an Assessor for ERTC in Barking for Health and Social Care & Child Care for QCF qualifications.

Arun completed his NVQ5 in Business Management and Level 3 in Residential Child Care.

He manage the delivery and quality assurance of the assessment process, to ensure that workplace assessments of individuals’ competence and performance meet relevant quality standards.

 

Andrew Butler

English Assessor

Andrew is a successful languages teacher with a proven track record of teaching French, German & English as a foreign language to all ages and abilities, achieving excellent results. I am approachable and have the personal skills necessary to support and encourage students in their learning. I use a variety of materials and methods in my teaching to ensure that lessons are stimulating and interactive enough to engage and motivate learners. I have worked in a variety of academic establishments, including a summer school, and also teach privately in people’s homes and workplaces. I am flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
